Unveiling the Central Ammunition Depot
Nestled near the town of Pulgaon in the Wardha district of Maharashtra, India, lies the Central Ammunition Depot Camp, commonly known as CAD Camp. This military area holds the distinction of being the second-largest ammunition depot in the entire Asian continent. The camp's strategic importance was relatively underestimated until the turn of the millennium.
However, in the aftermath of the notorious September 11 attacks and the subsequent attack on the Indian Parliament in 2001, the security paradigm surrounding the camp underwent a significant transformation. The previously lax security measures were replaced by stringent ones, and all forms of leisure activities in and around the area were immediately halted.
