The Union Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances & Pension, in partnership with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), has introduced a revolutionary new training program for state government officials. The Comprehensive Online Modified Modules on Induction Training (COMMIT) is a pioneering initiative that aligns with the Prime Minister's vision of an advanced "Induction Training Programme" for cutting-edge government functionaries. COMMIT is a blended course, which combines the accessibility of online training with the immersive experience of traditional classroom learning.

COMMIT: Comprehensive Online Modified Modules on Induction Training
The Key Aims of COMMIT:
- To enhance the quality of public service delivery.
- To foster a citizen-centric administration and promote good governance.
- To provide effective induction training to the latest recruits at the state level.
COMMIT has been designed to complement the goals and missions of the twelve-day Induction Training Programme (ITP). The programme aims to develop the skills and attitudes that enable improved citizen-centric service delivery. With a flexible structure, the officers can complete their online module of training (e-learns) hosted on the DoPT website, along with an 8-hour face-to-face training session with a Master Trainer at a District Training Centre. The State Administrative Training Institutes (ATIs) will be responsible for implementing COMMIT. The advantages of COMMIT, supplementing the traditional classroom induction- ITP, are numerous.
- It eliminates the need for a physical classroom, offering better opportunities for officers who haven’t been exposed to training to hone their skills and develop domain-specific competencies.
- It combines the convenience of online learning with the benefits of instructional and social interaction.
- It has the potential to reach approximately 3.3 lakh officials every year, a significant increase from the 10 thousand officials covered by the ITP.
- It allows for the translation of content into local/regional languages, making the training more effective and accessible.
COMMIT will initially be launched in the states of Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, West Bengal, Haryana, and Assam for the financial year 2017-18. It is anticipated that it will be rolled out across the entire country within the next year.
