An Overview of the National Mobile Monitoring Software App

The Ministry of Rural Development has introduced the National Mobile Monitoring System (Software) (NMMS) app to track the attendance of workers under the National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (Mahatma Gandhi NREGS).

• The application was first tried out in the Alwar district of Rajasthan, and after successful testing, its nationwide rollout was initiated.
• From 1st January 2023, attendance tracking for all NREGS works (except individual beneficiary schemes/projects) has been made compulsory.
• Worksite supervisors are tasked with recording attendance and taking geo-tagged photographs of the workers via the NMMS app.
• Training sessions are being conducted for states/UTs to facilitate the transition to the NMMS app.
