The National Strategic Plan (NSP) for Elimination of Malaria (2017-2022) was unveiled by India's Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare. This ambitious plan sets a goal for India to be Malaria-free by 2027, three years before the global deadline of 2030. The NSP is based on the National Framework for Malaria Elimination (NFME) 2016, which was developed with the assistance of the World Health Organization’s Global Technical Strategy for Malaria (2016-2030).
