  • A Paryatan Parv is being organized nationwide by the Indian Ministry of Tourism in cooperation with other Central Ministries, State Governments, and Stakeholders.
  • An effort called Paryatan Parv in India is based on Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi's vision to promote domestic travel.
  • The Prime Minister urged all Indians to travel to at least 15 tourist places in India by 2022 during his address to the country from the Red Fort’s ramparts on the third Independence Day.
  • The first events were conducted in Delhi’s India Gate lawns with great pomp and smaller gatherings in several states.

Dekho Apna Desh

Dekho Apna Desh component is intended for Indians to travel to their own country and take in the rich cultural diversity that the nation has been preserving for decades. It offers a variety of activities, such as quizzes, short stories, blog competitions, etc.

Tourism for All

The tourism for All component promotes engagement by individuals and groups within communities. This also supports those practicing folk performing and visual arts nationwide. Every state will host tourism events at a certain place, including dances, plays, concerts, puppet shows, etc.

Tourism and Governance

The tourism and governance component will enhance the tourism industry and raise the standard of guest services. Interactive workshops and discussions on rural tourism circuits close to well-known locations, skill development in the tourism industry, and contemporary technological interventions in tourism. Additionally, Tourism Marts are set up to boost the markets for specialized goods like those produced by indigenous people.

  • The Ministry of Tourism is organizing the 'Paryatan Parv - 2022' (Tourism Festival) in Mumbai from September 30th to October 2nd, 2022, as part of the Iconic Week celebration of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.
  • Representing the Western & Central Region, the event will include participation from Maharashtra, Gujarat, Goa, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and the UTs of Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu.
  • The festival aims to enhance the understanding of Mumbai residents about the history and culture of the region.
