The Smart India Hackathon is an initiative of the Ministry of Education's Innovation Cell and All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) to tap the ingenuity and technical capability of Indian youth. The hackathon unites students and industry experts with the objective of solving serious problems in the sectors by innovations. Implementation of the Smart India Hackathon
SMART India Hackathon is structured and systematic in its process of implementation:
- Problem Identification: Different government departments, PSUs, and industries identify and present problem statements they are facing.
- Call for Participation: All educational institutions in India are called upon to participate. Students form teams and work towards the problem statements provided.
- Pre Final Round: Submitted ideas are screened, and only a few teams are shortlisted for the grand finale.
- Grand Finale: Teams shortlisted at the respective rounds compete together for 36 hours for solving the problems under the mentorship of experts.
