Preparation Tips by Rukmani Riar for Aspirants

Though the preparation and strategy making is quite subjective, Rukmani Riar has given some general preparation tips for the reference of the candidates, which are listed below:

  • Rukmani recommends reading NCERT Books from grade 6 to grade 12 and these would build up a base of knowledge for the UPSC exam.
  • Another crucial suggestion by Rukmani was to keep up with all the ongoing Current Affairs for UPSC, for which she recommends reading newspapers on a daily basis.
  • Appear for mock tests and practice as much as you can by solving previous years’ papers and by analysing your tests.
  • Rukmani chose Political Science and Sociology as her optional subjects.

Rukmani Riar’s Key Suggestions

Rukmani Riar says that Revision is the key to score well in GS, in which she made a consistent effort to revise conventional GS at least 4 times before the mains, and also went back to newspaper notes and magazines (marked portions). When it comes to attempting the GS mains, Rukmani followed two things: one, sticking to the word limit and second attempting 250 plus in both the papers.
