The Union Public Service Commission has released the UPSC CAPF AC notification 2023 for the post of Assistant Commandants in the multiple forces like Border Security Force (BSF), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), Central Industrial Security Force(CISF), Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP). A total number of 322 vacancies are released.
- Candidates can apply from 26th April 2023 to 16th May 2023.
- Selection of the candidates is based on the performance in the Written Examination, Physical Standards/Physical Efficiency Tests and Medical Standards Tests, Interview/Personality Test.

UPSC CAPF AC 2023 Examination details
The CAPF 2023 examination is conducted to recruit the candidates for the Assistant Commandant post. After applying for the examination, the eligible candidates will be called for the Written Examination, Physical Test, Interview. Check the details below.
Written Examination
The first stage of the selection process is the written examination, eligible candidates will be shortlisted and admit cards will be issued for the shortlisted candidates. The exam is scheduled to be held on 6th August 2023 for a total number of 450 marks. The written examination consists of 2 papers - General Ability and Intelligence and General Studies, Essay and Comprehension. The Commission has the discretion to set minimum qualifying marks for each Paper. Candidates must obtain the minimum qualifying marks in Paper-I to be eligible for evaluation of Paper-II. The evaluation of Paper-II will only be done for those candidates who will score the minimum qualifying marks in the Paper 1.
Physical Standards/Physical Efficiency Tests and Medical Standards Tests
The candidates who will be qualified in the written examination are called for the Physical standard/Physical Efficiency Test and Medical Standard Test. Physical Efficiency Tests consists of 100 Meters race, 800 Meters race, Long Jump, Shot Put. The minimum qualifying standards vary for male and female.
Interview
The candidates who will be qualified in the Physical and Medical test are eligible to appear in the Interview. The UPSC CAPF AC interview is the last stage of the selection process and is conducted to evaluate the personality, aptitude, and knowledge of the candidates. The interview panel consists of experienced and knowledgeable professionals who assess the candidates based on their communication skills, problem-solving abilities, leadership qualities, and overall suitability for the role of an Assistant Commandant in the central police organizations. It is important for candidates to prepare well for the interview by researching about the organization, and current affairs, and brushing up on their communication and interpersonal skills.
Final Merit List
After the Interview, the UPSC releases the final merit list in PDF format. The candidates who get qualified in all the stages of the selection process are considered in the merit list.

Age Limit
The age of the candidates must be between 20 to 25 years i.e the candidate must have been born not earlier than 2nd August, 1998 and not later than 1st August, 2003.
Educational Qualification
A candidate must hold a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university to apply for the recruitment.
Gender
Both male and female candidates are eligible to apply for the recruitment.
