Difference Between Organic and Inorganic Pollutants - Testbook

When it comes to chemical pollution, there are two main types: organic and inorganic. Organic pollutants are carbon-based substances, which include items like agricultural waste, oil spills, and pesticides such as malathion.

On the other hand, inorganic pollutants are not carbon-based but stem from inorganic by-products and can be a result of heat, noise, or light pollution. Common examples are heavy metals like zinc, copper, nickel, and silver.
