Understanding the UPSC Cutoff Calculation

The term used by UPSC is minimum qualifying mark, not cutoff. This minimum qualifying mark is the score of the last candidate who made it to the UPSC's merit list. Typically, UPSC shortlists about 12 to 13 times the number of vacancies for the year. Also, candidates need to score at least 33% in the CSAT paper.

What's Next after Failing the UPSC Interview?

If you didn't make it through the UPSC interview, don't lose heart. You may still have opportunities to land jobs with Government agencies and ministries, provided the UPSC's recommendations are accepted by the Government.

Which Stream is the Best for the IAS Exam?
