Management Issues

Ramgarh Vishdhari Tiger Reserve has recently joined Project Tiger. The key managerial focus areas encompass reinforcing and educating forest staff, implementing field protection measures, conducting smart patrolling, enhancing protection infrastructure and communication, daily monitoring of tigers and other major wildlife, managing human-wildlife conflicts, and promoting eco-development in buffer areas and beyond. Additionally, the reserve holds significant tourism potential due to Bundi's significance in the Chambal tourist circuit and its proximity to the Ranthambore Tiger Reserve and Mukundara Hills Tiger Reserve.

About Ramgarh Vishdhari Wildlife Sanctuary

The National Tiger Conservation Authority (NTCA) took a significant step towards the creation of Ramgarh Vishdhari Wildlife Sanctuary and adjoining areas as tiger reserves on July 5, 2021, under the provision of Section 38 of the Wildlife (Protection) Act, 1972. This in-principle approval laid the foundation for a remarkable journey in wildlife preservation.

Ramgarh Vishdhari Sanctuary is situated in the Bundi district of Rajasthan, India. This sanctuary has now become the fourth tiger reserve in Rajasthan, joining the ranks of Ranthambhore, Sariska, and Mukundara Hills Tiger Reserves. Back in time, on 20th May 1982, the Government of Rajasthan declared Ramgarh Vishdhari Sanctuary a protected area under Section 5 of the Rajasthan Wildlife and Bird Protection Act, 1951.
