IPS Medical Test Requirements

An important component of IPS Physical Eligibility is the medical test. Candidates must undergo a thorough medical examination conducted by medical boards appointed by the Ministry of Home Affairs or relevant state authorities. The medical test checks various aspects of a candidate's health to ensure they are fit for the rigorous physical demands of IPC duties. Key areas examined include:

  • Vision: Candidates must possess good eyesight. Standards for minimum vision become 6/6 or 6/9 in the better eye and 6/12 or 6/9 in the worse eye. Color blindness or any other pathology of vision shall result in the rejection of the candidate.

  • Cardiac Health: Major examination of the cardiovascular system to ascertain the absence of any abnormalities.
