Bihar STET Selection Process 2025- Stages
The Bihar STET Selection Process is as follows:
- Online Application- Submit the Online Bihar STET by visiting the official website, filling up all required details paying the application fee
- Bihar STET written examination- Appear for the written examination, for both the levels, secondary and higher secondary. Paper I is conducted for the secondary level and paper II is conducted for the higher secondary level.
- Document verification- It is done to check the authenticity of the educational qualification and the proof submitted by the candidate while applying for this examination.
Online Application
Applicants must use the official web portal to apply for the Bihar STET. They must submit the required documents, pay the application fee, and complete the personal, academic, and professional information by the deadline.
Written Examination
The Bihar STET written exam assesses candidates' knowledge and instructional skills. To proceed in the selection process, you must pass this stage, which consists of multiple-choice questions. For incorrectly marked answers, there is no deduction in grade.
Document Verification
Shortlisted candidates are contacted for document verification after passing the written exam. To verify their eligibility, they must provide original certificates, grade reports, identification, and other pertinent paperwork.

Bihar STET Selection Process – Important Points
Selection for a teaching position is not assured by passing the Bihar STET. It merely attests to the applicant's eligibility to move forward in the hiring process, if any.
- The rules and regulations established by the Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) and the relevant appointing authorities will be followed when making final appointments.
- The selection committee may shortlist qualified candidates by conducting an additional screening procedure during the interview or document verification stages if there are a lot of them.
- To take the Bihar STET written exam, one does not need to take the CTET or TET.
- However, the final selection of applicants for TGT (Trained Graduate Teacher) and PRT (Primary Teacher) positions requires completion of CTET/TET, which is administered by the State or Central Government. If they meet all other eligibility requirements, candidates who have not passed the CTET or TET may still be considered for appointment on an as-needed basis. However, they will need to get the certification within a certain time frame.
Bihar STET Exam Pattern 2025

The candidates who want to be a teacher for the students of class 9th and 10th will have to appear for the Paper-I exam, and those who are applying to be a teacher for the students of class 11th and 12th then will appear for the Paper-II exam.

Calculation of Marks for Paper-I Secondary (Class 9-10) and Paper-II Senior Secondary (Class 11-12)
After the release of the answer key, candidates can calculate their marks for both Paper-I Secondary (Class 9-10) and Paper-II Senior Secondary (Class 11-12). Bihar STET Answer keys can be downloaded from the official website of Bihar STET.
- Both Paper-I for Secondary teachers (Class 9-10) and Paper-II for Senior Secondary teachers (Class 11-12) will have 150 questions where each question will be of 1 mark.
- There will be no negative marking for any incorrect or un-attempted answer.
