Major Changes in IBPS Clerk Exam 2025

The IBPS Clerk 2025 exam has undergone several important updates that candidates must be aware of. These changes include updates to the exam pattern, designation, language proficiency requirements, and new digital facilities. Candidates can check some below points.

1.Designation Renamed & Pay Scale Officially Published

The post of “Clerk” has been officially renamed as Customer Service Associate (CSA). For the first time, a detailed consolidated pay structure has been published. The basic pay starts at ₹24,050 and goes up to ₹64,480 through structured annual increments:

₹24,050 – 1,340 (3 years) – ₹28,070 – 1,650 (3 years) – ₹33,020 – 2,000 (4 years) – ₹41,020 – 2,340 (7 years) – ₹57,400 – 4,400 (1 year) – ₹61,800 – 2,680 (1 year) – ₹64,480

2. Local Language Proficiency Now Mandatory

Candidates must now demonstrate proficiency in the local language of the state/UT they are applying for.

  • Skills in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding the local language are essential.
  • Those who studied the local language in Class 10 or above are exempted.
  • Others must pass a Local Language Proficiency Test (LLPT) after the Mains exam.

3.Revised Mains Exam Pattern

The Mains exam pattern has been revised to reduce pressure and improve efficiency. Now the total questions have been reduced from 190 to 155. The Exam duration shortened from 160 minutes to 120 minutes and each section is separately timed, ensuring balanced focus across subjects.

4.Digi Locker Integration

IBPS has introduced Digi-Locker integration for easier document management. Means, candidates can now link Digi-Locker accounts for faster uploads. It allows auto-fetching of Aadhaar and academic certificates. This reduces manual errors and saves time during the application process.

5.IBPS Clerk Separate Edit Window

A new "Edit Window" feature has been added post-registration. After the last date of application, candidates will get another chance to edit their details. Edit window dates will be published on the official IBPS website. This helps correct any mistakes made during the initial registration process.

The IBPS Clerk 2025 salary starts at ₹24,050 and follows a structured pay scale, reaching up to ₹64,480 over time with periodic increments. The growth includes multiple stages such as ₹1340 for 3 years, ₹1650 for the next 3 years, and so on. In addition to the basic pay, Clerks (CSA) are entitled to allowances like DA, HRA, and transport as per bank norms. The total in-hand salary increases gradually with promotions and annual benefits.

The cut-off will vary for each paper as well as category of the candidate. Candidates need to secure minimum qualifying marks in each paper as well as aggregate to be considered for the further selection process and allocation of posts. The cut off PDF will be available for download on the official IBPS website after each of Prelims, Mains, and the final cut off have been released. 

IBPS Clerk 2025 Hall Ticket

The IBPS releases the IBPS Clerk Admit Card on its official website 7 days before the written examination As per the notification, the admit card will contain details of the candidate like name, roll number, exam center address and timings. Candidates will be able to download their IBPS Clerk call letter for 2024 by logging into their account on the official website using their credentials. The admit card is a mandatory document to carry to the exam centre without which entry will not be allowed.

IBPS Clerk Pre-Exam Training

The Nodal Banks/ Participating Organisations may arrange pre-examination training for SC/ST/Religious Minority Community candidates at certain training centres as per the guidelines issued by the Government of India. The training is arranged at the cost of candidates themselves.
