The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) has released the IBPS PO 2025 Notification for the recruitment of 5208 Probationary Officers/Management Trainees across 11 public sector banks. This is the 15th edition of the Common Recruitment Process (CRP PO/MT-XV), with the official notification released at ibps.in. The Application Correction Window has also been announced; candidates will be able to modify their application forms from 31st July to 1st August, 2025 @ibps.in.
The selection process includes three stages which are Prelims, Mains, and Interview conducted by IBPS and participating banks. The recruitment is for vacancies to be filled in the financial year 2026–27, based on actual bank requirements. Candidates shortlisted in the Prelims will appear for the Mains, followed by a Personality Test and Interview. The validity of this recruitment process will end one year from the date of provisional allotment or until the next round begins.

The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection has announced the application correction window for IBPS PO Recruitment. Candidates will be able to edit/modify their application form from 31st July to 1st August, 2025. What After IBPO PO Registration Process 2025?

IBPS PO 2025 Eligibility Criteria
Before applying for the examination, candidates must be aware of the IBPS PO eligibility criteria specified by the authorities in terms of their age, qualifications, experience, etc.
IBPS PO Nationality/Citizenship of Applicants
To apply for the IBPS CRP/Bank PO exam, candidates must meet specific nationality or citizenship criteria. A candidate must be either.
- (i) a Citizen of India or
- (ii) a subject of Nepal or (iii) a subject of Bhutan or (iv) a Tibetan Refugee who came over to India before 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India or (v) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.

IBPS PO Educational Qualification (As on 21st July 2025)
Candidates must hold a Bachelor's degree in any discipline from a university recognized by the Government of India or possess an equivalent qualification approved by the Central Government. Applicants must have a valid mark sheet or degree certificate confirming their graduation status as on the date of online registration. Additionally, they are required to mention the percentage of marks obtained in their graduation while completing the application process.
IBPS PO 2025 Percentage Calculation
While applying for IBPS PO 2025, candidates must calculate their graduation percentage based on the following criteria.
- The percentage will be calculated by dividing the total marks obtained in all subjects across all semesters/years by the aggregate maximum marks (including optional/honours subjects), then multiplying by 100.
- If your university uses a Grade Point System (CGPA/OGPA), you must convert it into a percentage as per your institute’s official conversion formula.
- You must provide valid documentary proof of the conversion method during the interview/document verification.
- Note: Any fraction in percentage will be ignored—e.g., 59.99% will be treated as less than 60%, and 54.99% as less than 55%
IBPS PO PET 2025
The IBPS Pre-Examination Training (PET) is provided online for a limited number of candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC/Minority communities. Eligible candidates must opt for PET while filling the online application form. This training is aimed at familiarizing candidates with the exam pattern and does not guarantee selection. IBPS PO Recruitment 2025 Selection Process
All the candidates who wants to apply for the IBPS PO recruitment 2025 then they have to undergo 4 stages of the selection process as part of the IBPS Probationary Officer Recruitment. The details of the same are discussed here.
1.Preliminary Examination
The Preliminary Exam is the first stage of the IBPS PO 2025 selection process.
It consists of three sections: English Language, Quantitative Aptitude, and Reasoning Ability. Each section is timed separately for 20 minutes, making the total exam duration 60 minutes. The total number of questions is 100, carrying 100 marks in total. Candidates must secure minimum cut-off marks in each section to qualify for the Mains exam.
2. Mains Examination
The Main Exam includes both Objective and Descriptive tests. It comprises four objective sections—Reasoning, General Awareness, English, and Data Analysis which carried 200 marks. An additional Descriptive Paper (Essay and Letter Writing) of 25 marks is also conducted. The total duration of the Main Exam is 3 hours and 30 minutes (including the descriptive part). Candidates must qualify this stage to proceed to the Personality Test and Interview.
3. Personality Test
The Personality Test involves a self-report questionnaire assessing behavioral traits.
It is not qualifying in nature but must be attended to proceed to the interview.
The personality profile will be shared with the interview panel for reference.
It helps in understanding the candidate’s aptitude and suitability for a banking role.
The test must be taken seriously as it forms part of the overall assessment.
4. Interview
Candidates shortlisted in the IBPS PO Mains and Personality Test will be called for an Interview conducted by participating banks. The interview carries 100 marks, with a minimum qualifying mark of 40% (35% for reserved categories). The final selection is based on a combined score of Mains and Interview in an 80:20 ratio. Interview details like venue, date, and time will be mentioned in the call letter downloadable from www.ibps.in. Candidates must carry valid documents or risk disqualification.
IBPS PO 2025 Provisional Allotment
After the interview process, candidates are provisionally allotted to participating banks based on merit-cum-preference, available vacancies, and reservation norms. Here are the main points to understand about the IBPS PO 2025 provisional allotment process.
- Provisional allotment depends on the actual vacancies reported by banks for the financial year 2026–27. Vacancies mentioned in the notification are indicative, not final.
- No request for change in bank or data entered in the online application will be entertained after allotment.
- Reserved category candidates selected on general merit will retain their original category and must submit valid caste certificates.
- In case of tie in scores, the older candidate (based on date of birth) gets a higher merit.
- Provisional allotment does not guarantee employment. Final joining depends on document verification and eligibility as per the participating bank's criteria.
- Non-submission of valid documents will disqualify candidates from the recruitment process.
- Once provisionally allotted, candidates must accept the offer from the allotted bank. Failing to do so will lead to forfeiture of their candidature.
- IBPS is not responsible for the final appointment process queries must be directed to the respective banks.

IBPS PO 2025 Negative Marking
In both the Online Preliminary and Main Examinations, a penalty is applied for marking incorrect answers in the objective tests. For every incorrect answer, 0.25 marks (one-fourth of the total marks for that question) will be deducted from the candidates score. IBPS PO Credit History
Candidates selected through IBPS PO 2025 must maintain a healthy credit history at the time of joining any of the Participating Banks. A minimum credit score, as defined by the respective bank’s internal policy, must be met. If a candidate’s CIBIL or similar credit report shows adverse remarks or is not updated by the joining date, they must either update the records or provide No Objection Certificates (NOCs) from concerned lenders. Failure to do so may lead to withdrawal of the offer. This clause is not applicable to candidates without any bank account and is not a prerequisite for applying.
IBPS PO 2025 Exam Centres
The IBPS PO 2025 exam will be conducted across multiple online test centres in India. Candidates must carefully check the allotted centre in their call letter and make necessary arrangements accordingly.
