SBI PO 2025 Selection Process
The SBI PO selection process is a three-staged process to shortlist the most eligible candidates for the post of Probationary Officer at the State Bank of India.
Phase I: SBI PO Prelims Exam
The SBI PO Prelims is an online objective test for 100 marks and includes three sections like English Language, Quantitative Aptitude, and Reasoning Ability. Each section has a time limit of 20 minutes, making the total exam duration 1 hour. There is no sectional cut-off, and candidates are shortlisted based on total marks scored. Approximately 10 times the number of vacancy.
Phase II: SBI PO Mains Exam
The Mains consists of an Objective Test (200 marks) and a Descriptive Test (50 marks), conducted online in one sitting. The Objective Test includes four timed sections: Reasoning & Computer Aptitude, Data Analysis, General Awareness, and English. The Descriptive Test requires candidates to write emails, reports, or either a situation analysis or precis. Sectional cut-offs and a minimum aggregate score are mandatory to qualify. Candidates about 3 times the vacancies are shortlisted for the next phase.
Phase III: Interview/GD
The shortlisted candidates undergo a Psychometric Test to assess their personality traits, followed by a Group Exercise (20 marks) and Personal Interview (30 marks). The psychometric test results may be shared with the interview panel to gain deeper insight into the candidate’s profile. This phase evaluates communication skills, team presence, confidence, and leadership qualities. SBI PO 2025 Eligibility Criteria
Before the candidates apply for the SBI PO Exam, the candidates need to know the eligibility criteria set for the candidates. The candidates must satisfy the SBI PO eligibility criteria like age limit, educational qualification, etc., to attend the recruitment. Details of the same are given below.
SBI PO Educational Qualification (as of 30/09/2025)
Candidates must be graduates in any discipline from a recognized university or hold an equivalent qualification approved by the Central Government. Final year/semester students can apply provisionally but must provide proof of graduation if selected for an interview. Those with an Integrated Dual Degree (IDD) must ensure the passing date matches the one in the notification. Chartered Accountants can also apply.
SBI PO Age Limit (as of 01/04/2024)
To apply for the SBI PO 2025 exam, candidates must be at least 21 years old and not more than 30 years old as of 1st April 2025. This means applicants should have been born between 2nd April 1995 and 1st April 2004, both dates inclusive.
