RAS Syllabus 2025: The Rajasthan Public Service Commission has released the syllabus and exam pattern of the Rajasthan Administrative Services (RAS) exam. The exam is divided into three states namely Prelims, Mains and an Interview. The RAS syllabus is divided into two main stages Preliminary and Mains. The RAS Pre syllabus focuses on General Knowledge and General Science, serving as a screening test. The RAS Mains syllabus includes detailed papers on General Studies, General Hindi, and General English. RPSC RAS Selection Process 2025

The RPSC RAS 2025 exam is conducted in three stages pre, mains, and interview. The Prelims is an objective-type paper used for screening, while the Mains is descriptive and determines the merit ranking. The Prelims paper includes General Knowledge and General Science of 200 marks. The Mains consists of four papers three are of General Studies and one on General Hindi and English. The mains is of 800 marks. Candidates who qualify the Mains are called for a Personality Test (Interview). Final selection is based on the marks obtained in the Mains and Interview. Understanding the exam pattern is crucial for structured preparation and effective time management.

RPSC RAS Pre Exam Pattern 2025

The RAS Prelims is a screening exam with one objective type paper on General Knowledge and General Science. It consists of 150 questions carrying 200 marks in total. The duration is 3 hours, and there is a negative marking of 1/3rd mark for each incorrect answer. The level of exam is of graduate level.

The RPSC RAS Prelims syllabus covers topics from General Knowledge and General Science.   • Study of Rajasthan’s pre-historic sites from the Palaeolithic to the Chalcolithic and Bronze Age. Overview of important historical centers during the Early Christian Era, along with ancient Rajasthan’s society, religion, and culture.

  • Political and cultural contributions of major dynasties such as the Guhilas, Pratiharas, Chauhans, Parmars, Rathores, Sisodiyas, and Kachchawas, including their administrative and revenue systems during medieval times.

RPSC RAS 2025 Mains Exam Pattern

Those who qualify in the Prelims will move on to the Mains. The number of candidates selected for the Mains will be around 15 times the total number of vacancies.

  • The Mains is a descriptive type exam.

  • It includes four compulsory papers—no optional subjects.

  • The first three papers are General Studies, and the fourth one tests language skills in English and Hindi.

  • The General Studies papers will be of graduation level, while language papers will be at the senior secondary level.

  • The marks from this stage will be counted for final selection.

  • Each paper includes a mix of short, medium, and long-answer questions.
