The National Testing Agency administers the UGC NET examination on behalf of the University Grants Commission. UGC NET is conducted biannually for 82 subjects, including Comparative Literature. Paper III has been removed from June 2019, and only Papers I and II have been evaluated since then. Paper I is General Paper on Teaching and Research Aptitude and is compulsory for all, whereas the candidate chooses Paper II.   • In June 2019, the cutoff for UGC NET Comparative Literature was 68.00%, whereas, in December 2018, it was 66.00% for JRF & Assistant Professor. 
  • For Assistant Professor only, the cutoff was 63.33% and 60.00% in June 2019 and December 2018, respectively. The UGC NET Cutoff largely depends on the number of candidates who participated in the examination and the difficulty level of the paper.
