The UPSC has released the NDA Exam syllabus 2025, which includes two papers: Mathematics and the General Ability Test (GAT). The NDA Mathematics syllabus 2025 features topics such as Algebra, Calculus, Matrices, and Trigonometry, while the GAT section covers English, Physics, Chemistry, General Science, History, Geography, and Current Events. The NDA 2025 exam carries a total of 900 marks—300 for Maths (120 questions) and 600 for GAT (150 questions).

The exam is held twice a year, and the final selection is made based on the written test followed by the SSB interview. Candidates are advised to go through the NDA Exam Syllabus PDF thoroughly for structured preparation. The NDA 1 Written Exam was held on 13th April 2025. NDA Syllabus 2025

The NDA 2 written exam consists of 2 sections: Mathematics and General Ability Test (GAT).

NDA Math Syllabus: Paper 1 Syllabus

The NDA Math syllabus remains unchanged each year. The 2025 syllabus carries a weightage of 300 marks and 2.5 hours are allotted to solve this section. The questions will be objective-type multiple-choice questions and the use of a calculator or mathematical or logarithmic table is not allowed. NDA GAT Syllabus: Paper 2 Syllabus

NDA GAT Syllabus Paper 2 is all about the General Ability Test (GAT), covering different subjects you need to know. These include General Knowledge (GK), English, Chemistry, Physics, Geography, General Science, and Current Events. There are 150 questions in total, with 50 in English and 100 in GK, which includes other subjects and current affairs. 

NDA GAT Syllabus

The General Ability section of the NDA Syllabus 2025 is worth 600 marks and has a time limit of 2.5 hours. It is divided into two parts:

  1. English Language (Part A) - 200 marks
  2. General Awareness (Part B) - 400 marks

NDA SSB Interview: Intelligence and Personality Test

Once a candidate has successfully passed the written examination, they will need to prepare for a series of tests administered by the Selection Board in order to fully assess their suitability for military service. The SSB round consists of two stages:

  • Stage I: This stage comprises Officer Intelligence Rating (OIR) tests are Picture Perception and Description Test (PP&DT).

NDA Exam Pattern 2025

The UPSC NDA Exam is divided into two stages: the written exam and the SSB Round. The entire selection process is worth 1800 points, with each stage worth 900 points.
