The interested candidate must mandatorily be a citizen of India in order to be eligible for this post. If not, the candidate can be still considered eligible if he/she is either:

The candidate must possess a Bachelor's degree (any subject). Candidates having the following qualification will be preferred.

Note: In the case of candidates belonging to SC and ST, the qualifications supporting the claim of experience are relaxable at the discretion of the UPSC if at any stage of selection, there are not enough candidates to fill up the vacancies reserved for them. The qualifications are also relaxable in the case of candidates otherwise well-qualified.
UPSC EPFO Selection Process 2025
The selection for the post of Enforcement Officer will be done on the basis of a two-stage process. These include the following stages -
Stage 1 – Combined Recruitment Test (CRT)
- The first stage is a pen‑and‑paper, objective‑type MCQ test called the Combined Recruitment Test conducted in offline mode.
- The duration of the CRT will be 2 hours with 120 questions worth 300 marks (≈ 2.5 marks per question).
- The exam is bilingual (Hindi & English, except General English).
- There will be a negative marking: one‑third of the marks per wrong answer; unanswered questions carry no penalty.
- Weightage of this test is 75% toward the final selection. Candidates may receive extra time or a scribe facility if they are PwBD
Stage 2 – Interview (Personality Test)
- Candidates who qualify in the RT are called for an interview/personality test of 100 marks, which carries 25% weightage in the final merit list.
- Applicants must meet the minimum category‑wise cutoff: 50 marks for UR/EWS, 45 for OBC, and 40 for SC/ST/PwBD.
- The interview evaluates the communication skills, subject knowledge related to EPFO and social security, awareness of pertinent labour laws, and overall personality and suitability for the EO/AO role
