UP Police Sub Inspector Eligibility 2025: Age Limit & Qualification

The Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board (UPPRPB) has released the UP Police Sub Inspector Eligibility 2025 to select capable and qualified candidates for 4,543 vacancies announced this year. Applicants must be Indian citizens and possess a graduation degree from a recognized university or an equivalent qualification approved by the Government. The age limit has been set between 21 and 28 years as of 1st July 2025, with age relaxations available for reserved categories as per state norms.

Along with educational and age requirements, candidates must meet the UP SI Physical Standards related to height, chest measurement (for males), and weight (for females). UP Police SI Educational Qualifications

For the UP Police SI 2025 recruitment, candidates must hold a graduation degree from a university established by law in India or possess an equivalent qualification recognized by the Government. Additionally, proficiency in Hindi typing (minimum 25 wpm in Unicode on Inscript keyboard) and English typing (minimum 30 wpm) is required, along with Hindi shorthand dictation at 80 wpm, assessed for accuracy by the UPPRPB. Candidates must also have passed the “O” Level Computer Examination from NIELIT or possess an equivalent government-recognized computer qualification.

UPSI Nationality

For the UP Police SI 2025 recruitment, candidates must be Indian citizens. However, eligibility also extends to Tibetan refugees who migrated to India before 1st January 1962, as well as persons of Indian origin who have permanently settled in India after migrating from countries such as Pakistan, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, Kenya, Uganda, and the United Republic of Tanzania.
