SSC CPO Exam Pattern 2024: Marking Scheme, Question Type

SSC CPO Exam Pattern is released with the official notification. The selection process is divided into 4 stages. The stages are Paper 1, Physical Test, Paper 2 and Detailed Medical Examination. In these 4 stages, 2 will be written examinations i.e. Paper 1 and Paper 2. We will look at the SSC CPO exam pattern for both Tier 1 & Tier 2 in this article. Key highlights of the SSC CPO Paper Pattern are:

  • 0.25 marks will be deducted as SSC CPO negative marking for wrong answers.
  • Questions asked in Paper I and Paper II will be objective-type MCQs.
  • Each of the two papers comprises 200 questions for 200 marks.

SSC CPO Exam Pattern 2024

Candidates must clear 3 phases of the SSC CPO exam. After this they have to clear the medical test to be selected for posts in Delhi Police, CAPFs, CISFs etc. The 1st phase is an objective MCQ paper. The 2nd phase is an English Comprehension Test which will also be objective-based. The 3rd phase is a PET/PST Test to check the candidate's endurance.

  • Questions in both papers will be of Objective Multiple Choice Type.
  • There will be a negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer in Paper 1 & Paper 2.
  • The duration of Paper I and Paper II is 2 hours each.

SSC CPO Tier 1 Exam Pattern (Paper 1)

As per the SSC CPO SI exam pattern, the first paper will have 4 sections viz. General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Knowledge & General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude, and English Comprehension. Each subject will comprise 50 questions carrying one mark each. There is a negative marking scheme in the examination, every wrong answer will result in a deduction of 1/3rd or 0.25 marks allotted to a particular question. The pattern of examination is as follows.

SSC CPO Tier 2 Exam Pattern (Paper 2)

The SSC CPO Exam for 2024 is comprised of two main stages, known as Paper 1 and Paper 2. In Paper 1, each correct answer is rewarded with 1 mark, but for each incorrect answer, 0.25 marks are deducted as a penalty. The time allocated for SSC CPO Paper 2 is 2 hours or 120 minutes, and this stage primarily emphasizes the English Language and Comprehension skills of the candidates.   • 1.6 km race in 6.5 minutes
  • Long Jump: 3.65 metres in 3 chances
  • High Jump: 1.2 metres in 3 chances
  • Shot put (16 Lbs): 4.5 metres in 3 chance

For female candidates:

  • 100-metre race in 18 seconds
  • 800-meter race in 4 minutes
  • Long Jump: 2.7 metres in 3 chances
  • High Jump: 0.9 metres in 3 chances.

SSC CPO Medical Criteria

The following are the criteria for the SSC CPO Medical Test:

  • Minimum Near Vision: N6 (better eye) and N9 (worse eye)
  • Minimum Distant Vision: 6/6 (better eye) and 6/9 (worse eye)
  • Must not have knock knee, flat foot, varicose vein, or squint in eyes
  • Eye standards should be without any vision correction, including glasses.
