Kashmiri, an Indo-Aryan language, is predominantly spoken in the Kashmir Valley and the Chenab regions. This language has made significant contributions to the Bhakti movement. Candidates opting for Kashmiri Literature as an optional subject in the IAS Exam are required to write their answers in Kashmiri. Similar to other optional subjects, Kashmiri Literature is divided into two papers- Paper I and Paper II.
