Also Read Indian Foreign Service Eligibility: Age Limit & Educational Qualification in Hindi

The Indian Foreign Service eligibility is a set of requirements a candidate must meet to apply for the prestigious IFS examination. The IFS is one of the most coveted services in the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) and offers a chance to represent India on the global stage. To be eligible for the IFS exam, candidates must meet specific nationality, age, educational, and physical criteria set by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC).

The Indian Foreign Service (IFS) exam is a part of the Civil Services Examination (CSE) conducted by the UPSC. The exam is divided into three stages: Preliminary Examination (objective type), Main Examination (written), and the Personality Test (interview). The eligibility requirements are crucial because they ensure that only qualified candidates can participate in the selection process.

  • Persons with Disabilities (PwD): Candidates with disabilities are given an age relaxation of 10 years across all categories, meaning they can apply until the age of 42 years for General, 45 years for OBC, and 47 years for SC/ST.

  • Other Health Conditions: Conditions like asthma, high blood pressure, and hearing problems may lead to disqualification, depending on their severity.
