Candidates can follow the steps mentioned below to recover/ re-generate their registration ID in case they forget the registration ID in order to download the IAS admit card.
Step 1: Visit the official website of UPSC.
Step 2: Search for the UPSC IAS Exam Admit Card link on the homepage and click on it.

UPSC Mains Exam Centres
There are a total of 24 UPSC Mains Exam Centres designated by the Union Public Service Commission. This is for the Civil Services Mains Exam, scheduled to be conducted from 22 August, 2025 onwards. Candidates will be allotted exam centers based on their preferences chosen in the UPSC Mains Application Form 2025. However, allotment of exam centres will be done on a first-come, first-serve basis. Major centres include Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Lucknow.

Exam Day Instructions Printed on UPSC Hall Ticket 2025
Candidates should be thorough with the basic instructions and disciplinary rules followed during the exam and at IAS Exam Center. The summary of all the instructions for IAS exam has been given below:
- Candidates must remember to carry the UPSC Hall Ticket in each session of the IAS Exam. The admit card should be kept safely with the candidate until the selection process ends which is till the final results are announced.
- UPSC CSE Exam Admit Card must be preserved till the IAS Recruitment is over.
- The candidate should reach the IAS exam center 30-40 minutes before the scheduled time. This is required to avoid any hassle and also to provide time for the frisking of the candidate.
- Visually Challenged and orthopedically challenged candidates should enter the exam centers with their valid admit cards and an admit card for their respective scribe.
- All types of electronic devices including mobile, smartwatch, calculator, pen drive, camera, Bluetooth device or any other device which can be used for communication during the examination are not allowed in the examination venue, even in the switched-off mode. If any of these or any other communication device is found with any candidate during the examination, disciplinary action will be taken against him/her, which could include a ban from attempting the exam again in the future.
- The use of unfair means inside the examination hall is strictly prohibited like carrying chits, talking, etc.
- The candidates are allowed to mark their answers on the OMR sheet only with a black ballpoint pen. The answers marked by any other colour pen will not be checked.
