The Union Public Service Commission releases the Cadre Allocation list once all the exam stages are completed. It is to be noted that IAS officers inducted into the Foundation Course at LBSNAA are provided with the allotted state cadre details before the commencement of training. On the other hand, IPS and IFoS trainees are assigned their respective cadres only after the completion of training and appointment into the services. IAS Cadre is allotted based on the merit ranking of the candidates on remaining vacancies after cadres have been allocated to other candidates who have indicated their preference.
